Exploring Visions of the Prophet Daniel
The Book of Daniel is one of the most difficult books of Scripture to interpret. It is said in Daniel 12:4 to remain sealed until the end of days. Many Jewish and Christian theologians and scholars for centuries have debated and analyzed the visions and sealed truths that make such a short book so powerful. It is terrifying, mystifying, and majestic and has intrigued scholars and pop culture as such that even the famed Sir Isaac Newton wrote a commentary on Daniel. This course will introduce the participants to Daniel's world and time as students undergo an exploration that seeks to strip away the pop-theology and pop-eschatological assumptions that sensationalize an already sensational book. A proper introduction to the motifs and themes that form the overall structure of the Book of Daniel will be given and the central focus of the course will be Daniel's visions which cover the second half of the Book of Daniel.

Instructor: Aharon Mendez
Aharon Mendez is from a Sephardic Jewish heritage. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, Aharon encountered the risen Messiah, Yeshua in someone’s living room when he was almost 19. From being a goth rock agnostic in the occult as a teenager, God radically transformed his heart and changed his life. All of this led to Aharon pursuing his theological degrees of which he holds a Master of Divinity from The King’s University in Messianic Jewish Studies and undergrad studies in theology. He also holds Level I and Level II Gottman Method Couples Research Therapy certifications. Aharon (Aaron) has been involved in Messianic Judaism for over two-decades and has done work in areas of Holocaust awareness, combating anti-semitism, and outreach in various forms. He served as a cantor and executive Messianic Rabbi for fourteen years. Currently, he is presiding as the Senior Rabbi/Leader of Beth Am Messiah in New City, New York. Aharon is mostly proud not of achievements but of being the father of his late children Refayah Selah (3 months) and Livnat Sapirah (5 years). He is blessed to share this gift of life and the gift of his children with his wife of 11 years, Zhenya who is also Jewish from the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic of Russia. Together they have a heart to see Israel and the Jewish people come to know their Messiah and to see the Body of Messiah (the Church) know the love of Messiah for His people Israel.
